Commercial Waste in Hadleigh: what to know
Hadleigh lies on the A13 between Benfleet and Leigh-on-Sea in Castle Point, with a compact shopping centre on London Road and housing that is almost entirely late 19th and 20th century. To the south it gives way to Hadleigh Castle and the country park, and to the north to the semi-rural lanes of Daws Heath.
Hadleigh town centre is strung along the A13 London Road, with a large supermarket at the western end, further food stores and a run of mainly independent shops. The primary frontages are on London Road and Rectory Road, there are cafes and pubs on the High Street, and a small parade serves Woodfield Road. Public car parks are at Rectory Road and Castle Lane. Because the road layout splits the parades, collection vehicles need to plan their approach. Typical waste is cardboard, food and glass from shops, cafes and pubs.
In the centre there's nowhere to leave a skip in front of a shop, so the truck comes before opening and the stock room is cleared straight onto it. Every business must be able to show its waste went to a licensed carrier. Ours is CB/DU308513, and each Hadleigh collection comes with a transfer note.
