Skip Bags in Burnham-on-Crouch: what to know

Burnham-on-Crouch is a riverside sailing town near the end of the Dengie peninsula, reached only by the B1010 and B1021, with a historic High Street and Quay and newer housing off Maldon Road and Southminster Road. Its recycling centre opens four days a week and does not accept vans.

Burnham-on-Crouch has an old core along the High Street and the Quay, protected as a conservation area that runs from the River Crouch up Chapel Road and includes properties on Station Road. An Article 4 Direction of 2009 covers unlisted houses in the High Street, Chapel Road, Silver Road, Station Road and Providence. Newer housing lies off Maldon Road, including Corinthian Place and the bungalows of the Burnham Waters retirement village, with the hamlets of Creeksea and Ostend to the west. In the older streets, bulky items are generally carried out to the road.

The bag needs to be within about 4 metres of where the lorry can park, on your side of the wall. Roads near the front carry parking restrictions and get busy in summer, so skips there go on drives or forecourts wherever possible.

Keep the bag on your own land, in a position the crane can reach. Tell us when it's full and we collect within five working days.

Typical Burnham-on-Crouch jobs. Bungalow and house clearances, including probate clear-outs; garden waste and shed removals from larger plots; waste from boatyards, marina businesses and High Street shops.

“Excellent service, called up about the removal of some building waste and they collected it the next day for a reasonable price. Hassle free experience, would recommend!”

“Great friendly service from LM waste. They used a small iveco truck with hiab to remove 4 x 1 tonne bulk bags of soil and rubble from outside my house. The access road is unmade, narrow and unsuitable for the usual large skip/ grab lorry. I will be using them again. Thanks very much.”
